Russian antitrust opens case vs Disney Channel for ads abuse
MOSCOW, Aug 20 (PRIME) -- Russia’s Federal Antimonopoly Service has opened a case against children’s TV channel Disney Channel CIS on signs of violations of law on advertising, according to the authority’s documents seen by PRIME on Thursday.
The watchdog initiated the case following an application of a person who said that the channel interrupted an evening June 5 broadcast of animated movie A Monster In Paris every 13 minutes and by more than four minutes each time.
The law limits the total duration of commercials by 15% of broadcast time and movies must not be interrupted every time by more than four minutes.
The service will hear the case on September 24.
